Baby and Me / Evian Advert

Evian 'baby and me' advert, created by a french advertising agency BETC, produced a young at heart campaign in a fascinating way. They accomplished this by associating their advertisements with babies shown in the reflection of an adult. This symbolises energy and youthfulness when the adults see in disbelief their inner child in their reflection. The idea behind this connects the social aspect that all adults want to become young again as they gradually get older and older. Evian play on this by making a series of advertisements on the theme of 'live young', in hope that their audience will buy the strategy of living young by consuming Evian water.




BETC will have used programmes such as, cinema 4D and after effects, with video footage and green screens to compose together and create intriguing visuals. Again this is another Hyper-reality I would consider and would enjoy exploring. Using hyper-reality to engage human emotion and ask questions is a fantastic way of advertising, most brands advertise this way in the modern era.

Potentially, I could explore the concept inner self and see how I could relate a hyper realistic approach. It would be interesting to design an app that would show different appearances of our self when we hold the camera. Maybe, connect us to our inner animal, or something along them lines. The camea could detect features and follow an algorithm that connects reveals their inner animal on camera, for me I have a long neck, so maybe I would be shown as a giraffe through the camera. It would be good if you could take pictures and share them with friends to find out who is what and connect people who are the same animal.
